I feel that songs should be universal mostly and shouldn’t need too much explaining, but I do like explaining them a little. This song is directly inspired by and it’s about the strength, vulnerability and resilience of the LGBT+ community. My community. It’s about overcoming the bigotry and hate directed at us and about finding ourselves and finding Love against the odds. But the song could also be a refugee’s story, or any kind of survivor’s story. There is always light beyond the clouds! Always! Never give up!

QUEER IRISH SINGER/SONGWRITER JD KELLEHER DROPS HUGE PRIDE POP ANTHEM IN HOMAGE TO LGBT+ COMMUNITY
(He/Him/They)
Following their highly acclaimed version of Over the Rainbow last Summer and two smashing singles that gave them their personal best year in music to date, London-based queer, non-binary, Irish actor & singer/songwriter JD Kelleher has today released a vibrant new pop single & video, THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS: https://li.sten.to/JDKdevil
JD has delivered some smashing tunes recently with Catalan musicians, Jimmy Pinol, David Ibarz & Marti Rieira (along with new band member Alex Badia on keys & synths) who together topped the Irish rock chart during the Marriage Equality referendum in May 2015 with their debut single & video version of Joy Division’s Love Will Tear Us Apart, the lead single from JD’s 2017 debut EP, The Ugly Tree.
The video for the new single takes JD to some iconic London locations and has JD bringing street art to life in a vibrant and colour-infused celebration of queer joy:
Kelleher never fails to deliver in performance and THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS is no exception, taking JD’s vibey queer pop grooves to innovative new heights.
