- ABOUT JD -
JD Kelleher is an Irish LGBT actor and singer who lives in London. His debut single, a cover of Joy Division's 'Love Will Tear Us Apart' became the best selling rock tune of the marriage equality referendum in Ireland in 2015. He followed this with some acclaimed releases on his debut EP The Ugly Tree. JD won Best Music Video 2019 at Brighton Rocks Film Festival, UK, for his song, 'Redeem'. Now in 2021, JD has kicked the year off with a burst of positivity with new single and video 'Give Me Light', followed by 'Too Much' release Autumn 2021 as a celebration of Pride.
“'Too Much' is the story of a gay child and the wrong messages he received about himself… too gay…too anything... and who overcomes shame and self-doubt to stand tall and own his place in Life. You don't need to be gay to get something out of that message. And who is this biographical track about… Myself! Written by my friends Herman Stephens and CeeJ Wolf based on broad strokes of information of my life, exchanged over lunch one day”
The video was shot on July 24th 2021 at London's first #ReclaimPride march in solidarity with #BlackLivesMatter, was filmed and edited by JD himself, and follows on from a plethora of artistic, emotive and cinematic videos in JD’s back catalogue.
